Secondary Infertility Support Volunteer
Fertility New Zealand is looking for a warm, empathetic volunteer to help re-establish and grow our Secondary Infertility Support Group. This group offers a vital space for people who are facing challenges growing their family after having a child.
With the support of the Support Coordinator, you will play a key role in re-establishing this group, which has been inactive in recent times. This is a new volunteer opportunity focused on rebuilding the community online, raising awareness of the group, and fostering meaningful engagement within our private Facebook group. As interest and support grow, the group will gradually transition toward hosting regular support meetings, either in person or online.
Key Responsibilities:
• Grow and engage the group’s online presence (especially on Facebook)
• Foster a supportive, welcoming environment for discussion
• Help coordinate and eventually co-facilitate monthly support group meetings (training provided)
• Support communication, event planning, and light admin.
Ideal Candidate:
• Compassionate and a great listener
• Passionate about supporting others through fertility challenges
• Familiar with or interested in secondary infertility
• Confident using Facebook and comfortable managing an online community
• Organised, proactive, and a clear communicator.
Time Commitment: Around 4–6 hours per month, with a focus on online engagement initially. Support group meetings will begin once the group is re-established.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Please send an up-to-date CV and cover letter stating why you want to volunteer with Fertility NZ to info@fertilitynz.org.nz.
