Help Improve Psychological Support for Those Facing Infertility and IVF Treatment in Aotearoa
Have you experienced infertility (12 months or more of trying to conceive) and undergone two or more cycles of IVF to conceive your child, who is now under three years old?
If so, your story could make a real difference.
Helen Williams, a psychology student at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), is conducting a research study to explore the emotional and psychological experiences of people who have conceived through multiple IVF cycles in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The aim is to better understand:
The emotional and psychological challenges involved
People’s experiences accessing support
How psychological care can be improved for those undergoing fertility treatment
What’s involved?
A confidential interview (via Zoom, Teams or phone)
Lasting approximately 1 to 1.5 hours
Scheduled at a time that works for you
All participants will receive a $30 supermarket voucher as a thank you
To participate, you must:
Have experienced infertility and undergone two or more IVF cycles
Have a child under the age of 3 conceived through IVF in Aotearoa
Speak fluent English
Have not worked with Helen in her Fertility NZ volunteer role

This research is supervised by Dr. Sonja Goedeke, Associate Professor in Psychology at AUT, and has been approved by the AUT Ethics Committee (Reference number 25/114).
