Administrative Support Volunteer

Fertility New Zealand walks alongside all people facing fertility challenges; we do this by providing in-person support and information to people experiencing fertility issues. We are looking for an admin superstar to support our Christchurch team.
Are you interested in a fulfilling volunteer opportunity? Consider joining Fertility NZ as an Administrative Support Volunteer. In this role, you will provide administrative support to the Support Volunteers and Fertility Support Series facilitators.
As an Administrative Support Volunteer, you will closely work with the National Support Coordinator and Christchurch Support Volunteers to assist with the following:
• Check emails and respond promptly to consumer enquiries (within 24 hours)
• Facebook group engagement
• Booking venues
• Communicate and coordinate with other volunteers of the Christchurch Support team as necessary
• Keep track of enquiries
• Forward any complaints to the National Support Coordinator and CEO to manage.
This opportunity typically requires a time commitment of 5 hours per month from February to November. We will reimburse your mileage for transportation to and from the location when necessary. We provide flexibility in completing onboarding training hours, offer ongoing training resources, and arrange in-person bi-annual training events. Fertility NZ will handle all travel bookings and arrangements on your behalf.
We are seeking long-term volunteers who can commit to at least a year. Join us for a fulfilling experience of giving back to the community.
Required Skills include:
• Proven ability to communicate in a positive, empathetic and professional manner
• Attention to detail
• Empathetic and clear writing style
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Previous customer support experience (preferred but not essential)
• Team player
• Experience in a volunteer environment
• Desire to progress Fertility NZ’s mission and support people experiencing the rigours of fertility challenges
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365
• Ability to stay calm when consumers are stressed or upset and maintain personal boundaries
• Have a close working relationship with the National Support Coordinator
• Maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards members.
