Fertility NZ Board is recruiting. Are you our next Secretary Officer for the Board of Directors?

Fertility New Zealand (FNZ) is currently seeking a new Director to fulfil the Secretary position on our board.

One in four New Zealander's experience difficulties in having, or completing, a much-wanted family and this can be incredibly challenging to deal with.

Established in 1990, Fertility NZ is a registered charity dedicated to providing information, support and advocacy to people experiencing fertility issues. 

We are a small organisation, and there is plenty to be done, which is why we are seeking a committed individual with a desire to make a difference for those facing fertility challenges. The successful applicant will have excellent relationship management skills, strong networks throughout New Zealand, a willingness to work strategically, an understanding of te ao Māori and the ability to collaborate with others. 

The Secretary position calls for a deadline-driven candidate, detail orientated, organised and with a clear understanding of organisational systems.  Duties include agenda setting, minute taking and circulation and regular filing of Charities returns.

Commitment required
FNZ’s board roles are voluntary positions.

Board meetings are held monthly online with three in-person meetings throughout the year, normally in Auckland.  Our online meetings are held on Tuesday evenings, with in-person board meetings held on a Saturday.

The FNZ board has eight elected Directors and 6 Board Advisers representing our members and Fertility Clinics across New Zealand. In addition to board meetings, there are a number of other sub-groups which work on projects and board members are asked to contribute to operational projects as well as their board commitment. 

The overall time commitment for the board secretary is five to ten hours a month.

Directors elected to the Board each serves a two-year term.
