Hi guys, I have been trying to get pregnant for 18 months now and have been trying to keep positive and put on a brave face... but I feel like the wheels are beginning to wobble off the wagon. I'd really appreciate anyone's advice on ways to manage coping with the challenges, especially maintaining friendships with people who are pregnant/have babies.

I'm in a similar boat to lots of other folks who have posted - PCOS and not ovulating. Have failed several cycles of Letrozole and Clomiphene and just had lap ovarian drilling plus back on Clomiphene. If this isn't successful I'm looking at a year wait before being able to access publicly funded gonadotrophins or IVF.

I find it really tricky dealing with close friends who are pregnant or have babies. I don't know anyone else who had trouble getting pregnant, but I guess it's not something people are often open about. Initially I didn't tell anyone I was having trouble, but recently have told a few people so they might be careful with comments and understand why Im sometimes distant. I have found it really difficult knowing how much to share and who to talk to.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any advice on how to manage some of these issues

Re: Riding the rollercoaster

Dear Seeking support,

I know exactly how your feeling - it's hard seeing your friends and family get pregnant at the drop of a hat - and i've had 3 recent friends get pregnant by 'accident' ! oh what i would give for that accident to happen smiling it's definitely is a kick in the guts when you hear these things - and it's hard to stay positive. I think for me the more open i am about my struggle the better it has been - as people are more sensitive - well some anyway smiling Your always going to have those who don't understand, so it's best to find support from those who know what your going through having experienced it themselves. If you ever need to talk about things i'm happy to listen as i definitely know what it's like to be on this rollercoaster! i'd happily get off anytime soon!!
thanks
Tania.
