Needing a gestational surrogate

I am not sure how all of this works, but I am starting to research surrogacy. I was born with spina bifida with tumour attached to my spinal cord and because of this, becoming pregnant would result in myself becoming paralysed and a maximum pregnancy of 7-months, so premature birth and additional risk/stress on the child.

I am therefore, looking for a future surrogate for me and my partner Matthew. Matthew and I have been together for 8-years. Matthew is a lawyer and I am studying medical research.

Does anyone know how all of this works? I am looking for a gestational surrogate (so my egg). Are there any services/organisations that assist with this? or waiting lists... Annoyingly I have no female family members, except my mum and she is in menopause so can't help...

Any information you have on the surrogacy process would be amazing smiling

Thank you

My name is Zoey. I am keen to be the surrogate that you looking for.

I am in good health, no criminal history. I have blue eyes I am 153cm and 82kgs. My natural hair colour is brown. I do not have any kids and don’t plan on having any of my own kids for a while. In the mean time I would like to donate and/or be a surrogate.

I do not do drugs, smoke/vape. I am an omnivore. I am finically stable, I am however on the benefit as I do not work.

My cell phone is

Re: Needing a gestational surrogate

Hi Katie
Not sure if you have found the answers you are looking for but hopefully I can answer some of these for you if not. Essentially if you are looking for a gestational surrogate (your egg + his sperm) in New Zealand it is up to you guys to find a surrogate. There is no formal organisation or matching process with fertility companies. Essentially sharing your journey online with strangers is the best way to go if there are no family relatives or friends that offer. If you haven't already I would suggest arranging an appointment with your GP so they can arrange a referral to a fertility organisation. From here the fertility organisation will guide you through the steps required in the surrogacy journey and hopefully discuss with you what is required to become eligible for IVF via surrogacy. Unfortunately the lawyers, adoption cost, ethics committee applications etc are not funded so best to expect upwards of 15 grand for this.

Hope some of this has helped.
